I got Nae up early on Mother's Day and took her to First Watch for breakfast.  I'd forgotten that they gave away small boxes of chocolates to mothers on Mother's Day so it was a bit crowded. But it was a nice day so she sat out in the car, knitting a baby blanket for a co-worker while I stood and read more of Jules Verne's An Antarctic Mystery. While I was waiting, I heard a lady next to me commenting to her husband on Nae's knitting and I said to her, "Go ahead and ask, she'll tell you all about it." So the lady went over to talk to Nae and they chatted knitting for a few moments until our name was called. When we were seated at a table for four, I suggested that Nae go and invite the couple to join us if they weren't waiting for anyone else. No reason to stand around waiting and the wait had climbed to over 30 minutes by this time. So they joined us and a good meal and good conversation was had by all.

After breakfast, we headed to JoAnn Fabric and Crafts to pick up some more yarn for the baby blanket project and then I took Nae to the butterfly show at the Krohn Conservatory. I'd forgotten that Mothers got in free so it was more crowded than usual but still a treat.

Even while waiting in line, we saw a small bird nestled in amongst the flowers:

Inside, I got some beautiful pictures of Indian butterflies, here are some of my favorites:

A butterfly resting on Nae's hand

Unfortunately, some of the butterfly's are in for rough treatment based on the sheer number of kids, most of whom were well behaved but a few were not. So there were a number of butterflies that looked worse for the wear:

Nae enjoyed it and pointed out this beautiful shot of a butterfly sipping nectar in one of the trees:

She also got a picture of me with a butterfly:

Once we were done at the show, we went to Benihana's for a lunch. Nae's favorite type of restaurant is a Japanese Steakhouse and it was a good show and good food. Then home for a relaxing end of day.

Peace, gentle readers
