The Ohio River at Newburgh, IN Minimize

To Lesa, for the times you cannot make it to the river, I bring the river to you

The evening is quiet, peaceful. The cloudless sky burns blue, a sapphire dome encasing God’s peace. The river flows lazily within its banks, meandering at its own sweet pace toward the Gulf, gurgling and chuckling at a private joke. The sun is an incandescent ruby, setting the western sky ablaze as it starts its descent into the river. On the path, a couple revels in their child’s joyous laughter, echoing and harmonizing with the river’s tones. A lone duck paddles upstream, its wake making the water dance in sun-reddened glory. A pair of geese cut effortlessly through the sky to disappear behind the trees on the opposite bank.

Truly, this place and time is Eden recreated, God saying, "Be at peace, My beloved. My arms enfold you and I will always be with you. I will always have a spot like this reserved for you. For those times when life seems too hectic, call on Me and I shall remind you of the paradise I have reserved for you."
